Dr Mark Scanlon leads the Energy Institute’s health, safety and environment (HS&E) technical development programme.

Working collaboratively with international stakeholders, from industry operating companies through to regulators and service suppliers, the technical development programme produces scientific and technical resources, such as guidelines and research reports, on topics such as occupational health, process safety, asset integrity and emissions management.

Mark leads a team of project managers that deliver the technical work programme for energy industry sectors from upstream oil and gas, through petroleum refining and wider downstream, to renewables such as hydrogen and carbon capture usage and storage.
