Hesham Alawi Abdulla is the Senior Head of Safety and Health at Aluminium Bahrain (Alba). With a MSc in Safety, Health and Environment Management from the University of South Wales (Glamorgan), United Kingdom, an MBA from Arab Gulf University (AGU), Bahrain, and an MSc in Social Science from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, Hesham has been a pivotal part of Alba since 2000.
In his current role, Hesham is responsible for developing and maintaining Alba's Health, Safety, and Environmental Management system. He has been instrumental in Alba's successful applications for prestigious international awards such as RoSPA, the British Safety Council, and the National Safety Council. His efforts have also enabled Alba to achieve and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications, as well as certifications from the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) and EcoVadis.
Hesham's expertise in safety, health, and environment auditing, along with his dedication to promoting a positive organizational culture, has earned him recognition, including the Rising Star of Safety award from the National Safety Council in 2014.
