Dr. Ghada AlZayani is a Public Health Consultant currently serving as Head of Monitor and Control at the Public Health Directorate, Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Bahrain. She joined the Ministry in 2021 and brings over two decades of experience in clinical medicine and public health.

Dr. AlZayani obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB BCh) from Cairo University – Qasr El-Eyni Faculty of Medicine. She holds the Arab Board in Family Medicine, the Bahrain-Irish Certificate in Family Medicine, and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Bedfordshire, United Kingdom.

She began her career as a Family Physician in primary healthcare, where she served for more than 12 years. She later joined the Communicable Disease Group within the Public Health Directorate, contributing to national efforts in communicable disease surveillance, outbreak management, and the development of disease control guidelines. In recognition of her expertise, she was appointed Head of Monitor and Control, where she currently leads efforts to monitor public health threats and implement effective national control measures.

Dr. AlZayani played a key role in the national COVID-19 response, particularly in testing, contact tracing, and border control. She is also active in medical education through her involvement with RCSI and Bahrain and the Family Practice Residency Program.
