Ameera Al Ghafri is an HSE professional at Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), with a background in Industrial Engineering and hands-on experience in field operations, well engineering, and construction. Her work focuses on practical risk management, behavioral-based safety, and the application of HSE management systems (HSE-MS) to support safe, efficient operations.
Over the past few years, Ameera has contributed to several safety improvement efforts within PDO. These include enhancing the Toolbox Talk (TBT) process to encourage more meaningful engagement at the worksite, supporting the implementation of Musta’ed Step 7 for better dynamic risk management, and helping standardize heat stress mitigation measures across field locations during extreme summer conditions.
Her approach is grounded in listening to the workforce, identifying what works on the ground, and working collaboratively to strengthen safety practices. She believes that steady, consistent actions supported by clear processes and engaged leadership make the biggest difference in improving safety outcomes.
