Mr. Hari Kumar is currently the Director, Group HSE Assurance – Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Dubai, United Arab Emirates.In his capacity, he is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the Group’s HSE policies, standards and strategies. 

Since joining the National Safety Council in 2007, John has led numerous high-impact programs, including the prestigious Robert W. Campbell Award. John is a frequent speaker at conferences in North America and Europe on topics including EHS&S management systems, leadership, and leading indicators. Prior to joining the Council, John held quality management, project management, and coalition-building positions in the communication and educational fields.

A qualified Chemical Engineer by training, Mr. Kumar has a Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University in Hyderabad and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai. He has spent the last 35 years in the oil and gas industry and has served in multiple senior operational and HSE roles across the Hydrocarbon industry supply chain in various parts of the world – spending most of his career in hydrocarbon exploration and processing, pipeline operations, as well as downstream storage and movement. Aside from ENOC, he has been associated with other reputable organisations such as Indian Oil Corporation, EPPCO (a Chevron Joint Venture), and Cairn Energy.

He is a certified Functional Safety Engineer and an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, as well as the American Society of Safety Engineers.
